Dreams and Wishful Thinking
Are dreams and wishful thinking one and the same? Are they cut from the same cloth? What differentiates one from the other? Might we consider wishful thinking to be waking dreams but of a lightweight nature that is, without the full backing of our beings. Is this the main difference between the two? What if electrodes were placed on people and measure the brain activity when they were dreaming and/or having wishful thinking, would there be a difference? It is said that dreams happen in the subconscious mind. What about wakeful dreams, would that be the conscious mind participating in the activities of the subconscious mind? Is that at all possible? And in wishful thinking, is the subconscious mind intruding upon the conscious mind?

What is this thing which they call meditation, would that be happening in the conscious or subconscious mind? It is said that in meditation, the meditator strives to enter the subconscious mind while fully conscious. In the dream state when one is sleeping and dreaming, the conscious mind is inactive and participates little or nothing at all in the dream except as an onlooker. Very often, dreams fade when the dreamer starts to wake up.
